Over the years Datanet has developed a wide range of products, primarily based on Workflow automation & Smart Cards. The banking products, an application of workflow automation, are installed in nearly 1500 sites across the length & breadth of the country. The installed products use the already developed & proven workflow automation platform BPRO.

Organizations can be of different types: corporations, governments, banks and other types of financial institutions, hospitals, charitable institutions, etc. These engage in different types of activities practically each day of their existence. Each such activity, or "business process", is originated by an individual or member of an organization, flows from member to member, and finally archived, once the process is completed. While many of these workflows may be originated and flow within the same organization, some workflows could span different organizations. In other words, we could have intra-organizational workflows, as well as inter-organizational workflows. Datanet's WFMS offering is called BPRO. Generally speaking, BPRO is intended for real workgroups, i.e., where the officials work out of the departmental premises, and are "tied together" by the departmental LAN. Implicit here is that the officials are restricted to the department's "working hours". For inter workgroup transactions, the connectivity among them could be by direct links or by e-mail.
