Dr. A. Prabhakar

Dr. Prabhakar has done his BE, ME and Ph.D from the famed Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He did Post Doctoral research at Manchester Univ, UK. Later he successfully guided five Ph. Ds while working at Indian Telephone Industries Ltd (ITI Ltd.) on varied technical topics.

He worked at IIT, Delhi for six years as Asst. Professor, before joining ITI R&D in 1974, as Deputy Chief Engineer. He went on to become the Director on the Board of ITI Ltd, and left the organization in 1995. After this, he started Datanet Systems Ltd in 1995.

He headed several departments in the R&D division of ITI Ltd. during his tenure, and spearheaded several new product developments and personally contributed to these based on intense research. The areas were as wide ranging as CAD of electronics systems, transmission systems for communications, VLSI design & fabrication, hybrid micro circuit and thin film design & fabrication, set up of VLSI fabrication infrastructure, reliability & quality assurance etc. He was Director (Production) also for a short period.

Since starting Datanet, he has once again been the fountainhead of new ideas in all technologies such as Business Process Management, Smart cards, POS Terminals, Banking processes etc.
He has served actively on many high level expert technical committees set up by the company and the Govt. Of India. He has been a very active participant in many professional societies and is one of the founders of the VLSI society of India. He has played a key role in conceiving & promoting the Smart Card Expo (conducted by SCAFI) which is now a major event in India and in founding Smart Card Forum Of India.

He has an unbroken record of continued product innovation for many decades and has headed many professional organizations.

Mr. G H Visweswara has more than three decades of experience with computer systems & in leading application software development.

He has been with Datanet since its inception in 1995 (joined as Senior GM) and since 2000 he was the Senior VP & Director. Since Oct 2006, he is the CEO & MD. He has been leading the design & development of products, project management, customer interactions, product maintenance & customer support of the BPM based platform & solutions, and smart card application software in addition to general responsibilities of administration & finance. In the last few months he is focusing on national & International business development for Simputer & Smart card solutions and in evolving architecture of such solutions for various applications.

Prior to Datanet, he was with ITI. He joined the R&D division of ITI, Bangalore (Indian Telephone Industries Ltd) as a fresher and rose to the position of Deputy General Manager. He held key (leader) responsibilities for Selection, setting up & managing a mainframe computing facility, development of a complete & integrated PCB CAD software, VLSI design centers to provide ASIC design services, Microprocessor Application Engineering Lab set up jointly with DOE, development & implementation of workflow based product for hospital & banks, marketing & customer support for CAD/workflow software products, and Technology Transfer, manufacture & application development of Parallel Computer - PARAM developed by CDAC. He was selected to be one of the four members of the Core Team set up for Organizational Change and Change Management under a leading management consultant from the reputed Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

He has been an active member & office bearer of several professional societies. He was one of the first to be recognized as a "Distinguished Member" of the Bangalore chapter of Computer Society of India for his contributions. He has held key positions including Committee Chairman of various national & international level conferences and organizational activities for Computer Society Of India, VLSI Society of India, and Smart Card Forum of India (SCAFI) etc.

He is empanelled by RvA, Netherlands and Norwegian Accreditation as a Technical Expert for BS 7799 / ISO 27001 (ISMS) witness audit.

He has done BE (Electronics) from UVCE, Bangalore with excellent academic record and PG Diploma - DIIT (Computer Science) from IIT, Bombay, securing first position.
